Introduction
Readjoiz ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application for learning Mandarin Chinese through reading. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
Learning data: We store articles you generate, words you encounter, your word status (new, learning, got it, skipped), reading activity, and your HSK level preference.
We do not collect: location data, contacts, photos, device identifiers for advertising, or any data unrelated to the learning experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Provide and personalize the learning experience at your HSK level
• Track your reading progress and word encounters
• Generate Mandarin content from articles you share
• Authenticate your account
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
• Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and learning data)
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in method (we receive your name and email)
• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates Mandarin reading content (article text is sent for processing but not stored by Anthropic)
• Vercel — hosts our API
We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission. Access tokens are stored securely on your device.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data, articles, and learning progress will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your data

Children
Readjoiz is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
